I decided to run for the Oak Park School Board because I believe every child deserves a high-quality education, every teacher deserves to be supported, and every family deserves confidence in their school district.
As an educator, I had the opportunity to work with students in the classroom and witnessed firsthand both the challenges and the incredible potential of our young people. That experience reinforced my belief that strong schools are built through accountability, transparency, and a commitment to putting students first.
Throughout my years of serving the community as a pastor, volunteer, activist and member of the Oak Park Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and Board of Review I have learned that leadership is about listening, solving problems, and bringing people together. I am running because I want to help restore trust, strengthen academic achievement, support and retain excellent teachers, and ensure that every decision made by the board is focused on the success of our children.
Oak Park is at an important moment. I believe our students deserve leaders who will ask tough questions, make responsible financial decisions, and work collaboratively with parents, educators, and the community to move the district forward.
My campaign is about putting children first, supporting teachers, strengthening academic excellence, promoting fiscal responsibility, and preparing every student for success in college, careers, and life. I am running because I believe our children deserve nothing less.
Raise student achievement above state standards through accountability, high expectations, and targeted academic support while expanding STEM programs and career pathways that prepare students for college, trades, and real-world success.
Ensure every building is safe with strong policies, visible support systems, and proactive measures that protect students and staff.
Retain and empower high-quality educators by supporting professional development, respect in the workplace, and resources needed to succeed.
Secure and responsibly manage funding so every dollar directly strengthens classrooms, student opportunities, and school performance.
